My name is Shanti and I have been a therapist for more than 20 years. I am a full accredited member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC) and a Registered Practitioner Member of the Terence Watts BWRT Institute (UK) (Brain Working Recursive Therapy) Level 1 and Level 2. I have worked with couples and individuals on issues related to relationship challenges, mental health; anxiety, stress, PTSD, grief, trauma and sleep deprivation. I use an eclectic approach in helping you achieve your goals and outcomes.

--- Currently I only offer online therapy --- I am a Holistic Counsellor, an intuitive & a spiritual mentor. My spiritual awareness and my background in the field of health have benefitted my appreciation for both tangible and mystical perceptions when it comes to physical and mental wellbeing.

A key ingredient of my (couples) coaching style is that YOU are the focus of our time together. It's YOUR life after all and YOU are the one that will be making any changes in YOUR life and relationship. Our sessions together are open, safe and confidential. At the end of the day, your honesty with yourself is a vital part of your growth, and I will do all I can to facilitate that in our time together.

In life and in relationships we can all have times that are more challenging and painful than others and (relationship / couples) counselling can provide a safe space to work through those seasons. I offer in-person counselling for individuals and couples from a cozy boathouse studio in central Whangarei, also worldwide online counselling in English, Swedish and Estonian. My therapy style is solution focused CBT mixed with other styles I find useful in personal growth. My areas of interest include couples therapy, migration and cultural issues, stress and anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, communication difficulties and self-esteem concerns.
